Kunming is the capital city in the South West Province of Yunnan in China. Yunnan’s marvels range from the Shangrila snow mountains in the north to the tropical rainforests in the south; Kunming is located between the two. Unique to China, this colourful and vibrant city is home to 26 ethnic minorities, each with their own culture, food and music. Famed for its spring-like weather all year long, there is no wonder why it is one of the most popular tourist attractions in China.

As with most places in China today, Kunming is developing at an incredible rate and although skyscrapers are starting to rise in the city, tradition is not lost. Traditional costume and buildings can still be seen, time-honoured music can still be heard and customary food can still be tasted in abundance.

In addition, it is fast becoming a popular destination for students of Chinese to come and study as the best Universities and schools in the province are based here. It’s no surprise that many who visit here make plans to return.

OEA Kunming is an English Language Training School dedicated to providing quality speaking and listening courses to learners of all age groups and levels.

The school is located in Kunming city also known as “the City of Eternal Spring” due to its year-round warm climate. The school premises are modern and bright with equipment and materials appropriate for our teaching aims, including a listening lab, computers and the latest textbooks and work papers. Our main teachers come from the UK and are CELTA, DELTA, TESOL qualified and experienced in teaching foreign learners of English.

The syllabus focuses on speaking and listening to prepare students for study abroad, new career paths in another country, travel, general and professional use of the English language. Students receive certification upon completion of each course.

Class sizes are kept to a minimum and we also offer smaller group classes including one to one learning with a skilled native speaker of English. In this way, students benefit from additional personal tutoring and speaking time.

Our aim is to provide quality teaching in an authentic environment. We encourage our students to work hard but we also understand that learning should be fun and pressure free. Furthermore, we know that our learners have their own personalities, the pace of learning and motivations for being with us and so we strive to attain what is best for them as individuals.
